Middle East Studies provides an interdisciplinary approach to the rich history, culture, politics, and social dynamics of the region.

Students can pursue various degrees, learn from faculty who specialize in the region, and deepen their understanding by learning Arabic, Turkish, Persian, and/or Hebrew.

Middle East Studies Minor

The minor in Middle East Studies will give students the tools to understand the historical context along with the rapid and profound changes that are occurring within the countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Persian Language & Cultures Certificate

This complements degree programs that focus on the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia. Dialects of Persian are official languages in Iran (Farsi), Tajikistan (Tajik), and Afghanistan (Dari).
